Not under the Christmas tree, but under the roof of our workshop lies the Christmas present we value most: with the recently arrived Gurutzpe GLX 20, we can now machine components with a turning length of up to 7 metres and a diameter of 2 metres.
The high-tech machine features a 4-way bed: this makes it possible to bypass steadies and the tailstock during machining – without having to remove clamping aids or retool. As rechucking is eliminated in many cases during complex machining of the workpiece, productivity and product accuracy can be increased. Furthermore, the machine covers a wide range of manufacturing possibilities. This is ensured by a quick-clamping system, which allows the system to be reconfigured in just a few minutes, as well as a wide variety of units and additional equipment. First and foremost, a milling turret with a 12-station disc turret, driven tools and a Y-axis.
Thanks to the new acquisition, we are equipped for an even more in-depth spectrum of processes. Taken as a whole – we recently also acquired a WFL M150 – our machinery thus boasts a unique selling proposition, at least within Styria, when it comes to the sheer variety of machining capabilities. The expansion of infrastructure and new technologies at the Aflenz/Turnau site is therefore complete – for now.
