With our new photovoltaic system, we are securing ourselves a place in the sun – in the truest sense of the word: collectors measuring over 3,000 square metres, fitted to our roof, will transform future sunbeams into sustainable electrical power. Our PV system is designed for a peak output of up to 650 kilowatts.
This investment – amounting to over half a million euros – not only contributes to future generations, but also provides economic benefits: almost two-thirds of the energy generated flows directly into our production of state-of-the-art components, with the remainder being fed into the public grid.
"Investments in a more sustainable future also require economic sense. Investments in renewable energies – like PV systems – bring economics and ecology into harmony. Because by using solar energy, HELDECO can achieve long-term cost reductions and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels," emphasises Managing Director Helmut Dettenweitz. This would, according to Dettenweitz, "significantly contribute to securing our location and thus make us a long-term and sustainably oriented partner for employees and customers".
When it comes to realising the photovoltaic system, HELDECO is once again relying on regional expertise: The Kapfenberg electrical engineering pioneer Graff (Here more) implements the project in full. "The planning and installation of such a powerful system require careful and precise preparation. Factors such as the size of the system, the available roof space, and the company's electricity requirements must be evaluated in detail. The long and successful collaboration with HELDECO is also due to our competitiveness in terms of our cost structure," says Harald Pichler, who is responsible for Business Development at Graff.
