In our manufacturing, which is geared towards high precision and maximum quality, it's not just every thousandth of a millimetre in length or width that counts, but also in terms of time: power outages caused, for example, by extreme weather – even if they only last for the blink of an eye – cause drastic problems in our production. "Especially when processing high-quality components, even a minimal plant failure leads to inaccuracies. Or, in the worst case, even to the complete destruction of the product," explains managing director Helmut Dettenweitz. The plants themselves would also potentially suffer damage from the temporary outages.
A newly installed uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is now intended to provide a solution for our hall V: the device will ensure the continuous power supply for our high-tech machines, such as our new Gurutzpe GLX20, on which high-precision components for wind energy are produced.
